HOW TO CONTACT ADOC

If you need to see a doctor while the surgery is closed you could telephone the surgery number or you could phone the ADOC telephone centre at:

01563 54 55 56

Please wait - do not hang up.
Patients in Kilbirnie, Beith, Largs, Skelmorlie, Maybole, Dailly, Ballantrae should use local rate telephone number:

0845 741 3003

Patients calling from telephone call boxes will be called back. ADOC accepts reversed charge calls from telephone call boxes. We will return your call if the sisters are busy with other patients. Please note all our telephone calls are recorded.

WHEN YOU GET THROUGH

The telephonist will collect your registration details. After that she will transfer you to a senior nursing sister who will take full details of your health problem and give advice as to what will happen next.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ?

The sisters will give you advice on your illness, invite you to attend a primary care treatment centre, or arrange for a doctor to visit you. The sister will arrange for you to speak directly to a doctor at your request.

The treatment centres are located at:

Ayr Hospital

Crosshouse Hospital

Ayrshire Central Hospital

The sisters will arrange for a doctor to visit you if you are too ill to travel or you have significant difficulties in attending a centre.

Please remember that you can only access the service by telephone, don't go to a treatment centre without first having spoken to the nursing sisters by phone.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I HAVE SEEN THE ADOC DOCTOR ?

All the details of your illness and any follow-up
instructions will be faxed to your own doctor by the following morning. You should only contact your own doctor if asked to do so by the ADOC sister or the ADOC doctor.
